Dípla earned her Ph.D. in “Exercise Physiology” from Temple University (Philadelphia, USA), where she studied the cellular functions of cardiac muscles, focusing on contraction mechanisms in hypertrophy/atrophy in disease states. After her postdoctoral research (funded by the American Heart Association), she worked at the Cardiovascular Research Institute at Temple University. Currently, she is a Professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (TEFAA Serres). Her research focuses on exercise as a toll for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. She has more than 100 publications (4600 citations). She is also involved in exercise-rehabilitation programs for patients with chronic lung diseases. Dr. Dípla has received awards from national and international Societies (including the American Physiological Society).
