Halvatsiotis Panagiotis
Associate Professor, School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Athens, Greece
He completed his secondary studies at Evangeliki Model High School in Athens and received the bachelor MD degree from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).
He followed teaching courses under a scholarship in Mount Sinai Medical School University of New York, USA, as a visiting student.
He received his PhD degree from the Medical School of the NKUA, supported from a scholarship from “Alexandros Onassis” Foundation.
He was named internist in 1997 and in continue under a European Grant he was enrolled in Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, USA for his fellowship in Endocrinology.
He was given the title of Diabetologist in 2019 and he is serving as Faculty member (Associate Professor) in NKU Medical School.
He served as an editor and co-editor at 6 editions and reviewer in 30 international scientific journals. He has served as a member of the International Peer Review Panel of Ministry for Science, Technology, and Innovation of the Danish Government, for Diabetes and obesity in 2011.
He was awarded with 3 first and 1 second prize for his research projects during National congresses in Diabetes and Internal Medicine. In 2011 his research project was elected as a finalist at the 9th World Congress of Insulin Resistance, Los Angeles, California, USA. He received a Patent Authorization from the Hellenic Ministry of Development (2023).
He served as the Chairman of the Board in the General hospital of Athens “Elpis” (December 2020 – February 2024).
