Brilakis Manolis

Dr. Emmanouil Brilakis, MD, MSc, PhD, born in January 1976 in Athens, is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder, knee, and sports orthopaedics.

He has been appointed Associate Director of the 3rd Orthopaedic Department at Hygeia Hospital. He has served as Head Team Physician for various Greek teams, notably the women’s basketball teams of Olympiakos Piraeus and Panionios GS. He currently treats elite athletes in track and field, gymnastics, basketball, and martial arts and provides consultation for both basketball teams and track and field athletes.

He conducts research and publishes in national and international journals. He teaches in postgraduate programmes at Athens Medical School and is a member of various scientific societies. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of ISAKOS, is the treasurer of the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology and is the Vice President of ESA (a section of ESSKA). He also chairs the Communications Committee of ISAKOS.

His scientific and research interests encompass shoulder arthroscopy, instability, irreparable rotator cuff tears, shoulder arthroplasty, knee arthroscopy, and sports orthopaedics.
