Elias Tsepis is a full Professor at the Department of Physiotherapy of the University of Patras and currently he is Dean of the School of Health Rehabilitation Sciences. He has two bachelor degrees, in Physical Education from the National & Kapodestrian University of Athens (NKUA) and in Physiotherapy from the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens. He completed an MSc in Sports Medicine in the University of Nottingham -UK and he earned his PhD in Biology of Exercise from NKUA.
He has published about 100 full papers in peered reviewed journals, several short reports and he has given several scientific lectures and paper presentations in international and domestic conferences having international recognition (>3500 Google scholar citations, 23 h-index). His research interests mainly focus on the assessment of musculoskeletal pathologies, clinical biomechanics, sports injuries prevention and therapeutic exercise.
He has been teaching undergraduate modules for more than 20 years in the area of kinesiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, musculoskeletal physiotherapy and physiotherapeutic assessment. He has been involved in 6 post MSc courses in physiotherapy or medical schools, organizing and teaching seven specialty modules regarding Biomechanics, Sports Physiotherapy and Therapeutic Exercise Planning.
Clinically, he has worked as a Physiotherapist for the Greek National Rowing Team, and for the Hellenic Society for Disabled Children (ELEPAP). He has also been involved in research programs at the University of Ioannina and he has been the coordinator of another program at the TEI of western Greece. He has served as head of the Physiotherapy Dept for a total of 7 years, and a director of the MSc in Therapeutic Exercise for 4 years. He has also served as a member of various university committees and bodies (research, lifelong learning, faculty or university senate).
During his athletic career he has won multiple national rowing titles and he has been a member of the Greek national team for eight years, with various international distinctions in World and Balkanic rowing championships.
